The rapid growth of the use of simulation
software tools leads to a cost efficient forecast of product behavior. It also supports
the understanding of complex relationships and improves time to market. In many
industrial branches they are already the base for modern development
processes. Simulations are widely used, e.g. in structural mechanics (FEM), in thermodynamics
(CFD), in acoustics and in control technology.
Particular significance is attached to the use of Opensource Computation
Software like OpenFOAM or LIGGHTS in research and industry.
