At THU, we develop both the electronic components and the associated software, since both are closely interlinked. A particular area of focus is mobile diagnostics. Examples are outpatient sleep diagnosis and monitoring neurological patients (e.g. people with Parkinson's disease). The technologies used are easily transposed to the fields of rehabilitation and sports medicine. The working group also conducts research in the field of circulatory diagnostics, e.g. using ultrasound to detect embolisms (acute stroke, open heart/brain operations). Here clots or air bubbles are detected which could cause a lung embolism or a stroke. At the same time, it is also possible to make more general diagnoses regarding blood circulation.
