So you've already tried using our university library?Great.Here is some more detailed information on subjects such as Citavi and interlibrary loans.

​Suggestions for new purchases/new acquisitions

Do you miss books, eBooks or other media in our library, which you need for your studies, or for teaching or research?We are happy to receive suggestions for new purchases. Please send these to bibliothek@hs-ulm.de.
Information on our new acquisitions can be found in the online catalog (in the library catalog under the menu item "Neuerwerbungslisten").

Online media

Online media licensed by the library (eBooks, eJournals, literature databases, standards) are available you to you for free within the Ulm University of Applied Sciences network.
Those affiliated to the University of Applied Sciences can access these online media from home as well:

  • Install the VPN client or

  • log in via Shibboleth.You can find more information on the provider's website.Please note: not all items on offer are Shibboleth-compatible.

All eBooks and eJournals licensed are accessible via our online catalog, comprising around 80,000 eBooks and 10,000 eJournals in the fields of technology, computing, energy, medicine, the environment and economics, as well as online dictionaries.
More than 52,000 eJournals covering all subjects are freely accessible via the EZB (Elektronische Zeitschriftenbibliothek – electronic journal library).


Learning Videos on LinkedIn Learning

The popular learning videos from Lynda.com (formerly Video2Brain) are now available on LinkedIn Learning. Please register here with your university's e-mail address, the anonymous address is working as well. Pay attention to the language selection icon in the upper right corner to get access to videos in 7 languages.

Interlibrary lending and document delivery

Registered library users can use the Online Catalog (in the library catalog under the menu item [Fernleihe]), to request books, data carriers and copies of articles via interlibrary loan from other German libraries. The fee is 1.50 EUR per order.

Additionally, there are document delivery services available for a fee, such as the Subito document delivery service for scientific libraries in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.



Citavi reference management system

Citavi 6.4 is now available within the university's network via DSM Softwareshop.

The Citavi literature management program supports you at every stage of working with scientific literature.You can install Citavi on your university computer and your private computer:

  • You can install Citavi on your university computer (up to Windows 7) via Software Shop.
  • You can also use Citavi on your private computer or a USB stick: if you install Citavi Free, you can manage up to 100 literature references.With the free license key, which you can request from Citavi Campus License you can manage more than 100 literature references.
  • Your internal e-mail address is used for authentication.
  • You can use this to set up a Citavi account, and acquire the right to save Citavi on up to two personal computers.

Use of the software is at the discretion of and upon the responsibility of the user, under the conditions specified by the software provider.

HUPS university publications server

Please note, that this service is temporarily unavailable!

HUPS The Hochschule Ulm Publications Server offers everyone at Ulm University of Applied Sciences the option of publishing electronically created and qualified documents they have written or edited – free of charge. After publication the texts are available throughout the world on the Internet, and will be permanently archived by the library. The documents are accessible via the library catalog and search engines.
