Application deadline

The degree programme SE is only offered in the winter semester.

The application deadline for applicants from EU countries is July 1 each year, and April 15 for applicants from non-EU countries. These are cut-off dates. That means applications which are received later will not be considered, even if missing the deadline was not your fault. Here it is the date which the application reaches the University of Applied Sciences which is important, and not the postmark.

Since your application can only be processed if all the documentation is complete and submitted by the deadline, you should apply early so that any questions arising can be clarified in time before the close of applications.

Admission prerequisites

A prerequisite for admission to the degree programme SE is an above-average qualification in a technically or scientifically-oriented degree: with a standard study period of at least three years at a German university of applied sciences or a comparable foreign university.

Other prerequisites are a good knowledge of German and English, as well as successful participation in a motivation interview, where you must attain at least 7 points.

Admissions process

The issuing of the study places will be defined in a suitability assessment process. Suitable applicants must participate in a selection interview.

The motivation interview generally takes place in the period between July 2 and July 15, at one of the cooperating universities of applied sciences.

The exact date and time, as well as the location of the interview will be announced one week in advance by the relevant university of applied sciences.

After the interview, you will be evaluated for the Master's degree programme on a grade scale from 0 to 15 (15 points corresponds to grade 1.0), according to your ability and attitude.

To be admitted to study, you must achieve at least 7 points.

If study places remain unfilled, further applicants may be considered in a Clearing process, based on a ranking list.
