You want to discover the secrets of electronic systems and innovate professionally using microelectronics, software and embedded computer technology?Then the degree program Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (ET) is the right one for you!From the generation and distribution of electrical energy, comprehensive technical support in medicine, in the home and in administration, right through to constantly-available global communication links: as an Electrical Engineering and Information Technology specialist, you will develop the systems and components needed for society’s technical infrastructure.
The seven semester degree program ET offers you seven specialization topics, two of which you can choose for your personal course direction.The previous “stand-alone” electrical engineering degree programs are integrated into the new course structure with the selection of these specializations.For example, by combining the specializations “Automotive Electronics” and “Energy and Power Electronics”, you will acquire the same qualification as in the former degree program, “Automotive Electronics”.
You can also take this degree program with the Ulm Model or with in-depth practical experience.

Prerequisites
You can apply for the degree program ET if you have an entrance qualification for a university of applied sciences, a subject-specific higher-education entrance qualification, a general qualification for university entrance or a comparable qualification. A pre-study internship is not required.
Furthermore, you should have a general interest in dealing with mathematical and scientific questions, and a certain degree of ability in communication and abstract thinking.To discover where your preferences and strengths lie, a voluntary pre-study internship before starting your course may be useful
Course Schedule
The seven semester degree program is split into basic and advanced studies.The basic studies with the associated modules are taken by all ET students in semesters 1 to 4.From the 3rd semester, you choose two specialist topics to increasingly build upon the basic studies (semesters 3 to 7).This gives you a wide range of options for studying in greater depth, according to your personal preferences.

Examples of specialization subject combinations:
“Automotive systems” and “Energy and Power Electronics” will prepare you for modern automotive topics including electric vehicles. By choosing “Automation” and “Energy and Power Electronics”, you will become a specialist in industrial electronics.The two specializations “Communication Systems” and “High Speed Electronics” cover the modern field of communications engineering.
After successful completion of this degree program you will be awarded the academic degree title "Bachelor of Engineering".
